Bus stop boutique
“I wanted this bus stop and I got it. I wanted the whole thing to be a piece of art,” she says.
Hall was inspired by the little boutique shops around Aro Street and says the idea to paint the bus stop as a window display came to her easily, “I stare at a blank canvas and it tells me what to do.”
Hall is self-taught, and she also paints pop art, surrealism and works with leather and glitter.
“I came from a family of artists so I was born into it,” she explains.
She painted the mural over three days and says a whole load of people stopped to watch and chat.
“The locals were bringing me coffee and glasses of wine and letting me use their loos,” she laughs.
Hall, who has also painted the dairy on Salamanca Road in Kelburn and the revamped Porirua train station, is currently indulging in idol worship, “At the moment I’m loving painting glitter portraits of my idols like Jimmy Hendrix.”
But she’s wants to keep wowing Wellington walls with her bright creations.
