Echolalia

The Kallo Collective
Tickled by the supposed “social weirdness” of autistic children while working with them on a holiday programme, Jen McArthur created a character for the stage who deals with everyday life in a unique way. Echolalia uses the art forms of modern clown, theatre and dance to present Echo - a young woman trying to leave the house for a job interview. Touching, surprising, playful, McArthur’s experience in street theatre comes to the fore, in this energetic portrayal of a person dealing with their fears.  “Jenny McArthur combined comic flair, effortless physical skills and that special quality, sheer watchability.” Venue, Bristol.
