Many ways to amuse the children
Rumpelstiltskin will make his appearance at 4 Moncrieff Street, Mt Victoria, in KidzStuff’s Theatre’s production of the Brothers Grimm fairytale. Directed by Jane Waddell, and staring Hadleigh Walker as Rumpelstiltskin, this is a new take on an old tale with plenty of audience participation, fun for the children, some jokes for the adults and a little cross-dressing.

The Adventures of Pinocchio, the wooden boy who just wanted to be real, plays at the Gryphon Theatre in Ghuznee Street. This new adaption of the story of Pinocchio is directed by Mary Coffey with ten fresh new songs written by musician and teacher Carey McDonald.
Making Pinocchio’s famous nose grow has been a huge challenge for the crew of Kapitall Kids Theatre and they’re keeping tight-lipped about the theatre tricks they have employed.
The Adventures of Pinocchio runs from July 19-30.
Puppets are also the theme at Capital E with the return of puppets Bernie and Elton in their production of Boxes.
Directed by Peter Wilson, Boxes is about the strange goings-on when Elton unpacks his belongings from their boxes after shifting house.
After seeing the show children can drop into the Capital E playground and create their own box inspired masterpiece to take home.
Boxes runs at Capital E from July 16-30.
At Circa Theatre The Improvisors bring a show of medieval adventure with knights, princesses and magical spells. A Knight to Remember is an interactive show for kids that uses ideas from the audience to steer the course of the story. The audience is encouraged to come dressed up for the occasion.
