You missed the occultation of Pluto – almost everyone did – but there’s another good reason to stop by Carter next Monday. The Curiosity Rover will be landing on Mars and a live feed of the event will be screening at the Observatory’s Planetarium. NASA launched the rover in November of 2011 and it’s planning to touchdown in the Gale Crater at 5:31pm. Crew from the KiwiMars expedition, which spent two weeks at the Mars Desert Research Station in Utah living in a simulated Martian environment, will be on hand to talk about their research and experiences.
