2012 the fairy tale year. It marks 200 years since the publication of the first volume of fairy tales by the brothers Jakob and Wilhelm Grimm. To celebrate this anniversary in the year that New Zealand will feature as the guest of honour at the prestigious Frankfurt Book Fair, the Goethe-Institut is planning activities around this "Once upon a time…" theme, including posters from Germany and young New Zealanders.Two parallel exhibitions, the Academies Salon des Refusés and  "O Tannenbaum!" which will feature work by German designers - from students, professors and professionals - offering a modern and surprising take on that most German of inventions, the Christmas Tree.
