Point, shoot, upload

Ben Moore, co-organiser of Photober, snapped an old coin using a macro lens, “You can see how damaged it is.”
Participants will upload one photograph taken each day of the month to the Photober Facebook page. Moore, who is dead keen on design and visual arts, wants to stress that it’s not a competition, “Everyone has a camera and seems to fancy themselves as a photographer. This is about providing a reason to get out and take photos.”
Moore and Scott Dowell arranged “Photember” in September 2010 with seven participants. The numbers have increased dramatically in 2011 with 88 people signed up and numbers growing every day.
Pictured is a Ben Moore photograph, taken with a 50mm Takumar prime and a Canon 18-55, reversed onto one another to create “amazing macro.” But you don’t need a flash camera, specialist knowledge or editing skills: point and shoot photography is welcomed, “It’s all about the eye.”
To join the project search for the “Photober” event on Facebook and get snapping.
