Coffee prices
Just following on from your coffee price article, did anyone mention Chocolate Frog at Palmers in Miramar? After shopping at Palmers, I ordered a flat white to go, and was asked for $4.50. I said, “No, just regular size will be fine,” and was told that’s the price.
The coffee was no bigger or better than others who charge $1 to $1.50 less (Yes, $3 at James Cook for the same or more). Definitely won’t be a regular at the Chocolate Frog.

Ethnic descriptions
I’m wondering whether I ought to apply John McEnroe’s immortal words, “You cannot be serious”, to one of your Oct. 21 letters [“Coloured news media”]. Doesn’t she realise that, when describing any such person, the authorities and the media must use everything, which will help to identify him/her? All ethnicities of any such people are always mentioned; and I’ll bet she doesn’t desire the descriptions of Caucasian, East Asian, African discontinued. And if Maori and Pasifika gangs of youngsters are contributing most of the violence, robberies, rowdiness, then it is very right and proper for the public to be aware of this, and to steer clear of such gangs, especially at night. If they have got themselves a bad name, whose fault is that?
