Silvery symphony

SOPRANO Solveig Kringelborn’s voice is silvery. Although she has a vibrato and her delivery is at times hesitant.
Sibelius’s Luonnotar orchestral song had attractive lines and was nicely sung, although Kringelborn didn’t always seem comfortable with it.
The simpler Grieg – Songs for Soprano and Orchestra – were pleasant, but not especially demanding.
Conductor Leif Segerstam was a sympathetic accompanist. Chris Cree Brown’s Icescape, inspired by a trip to Antarctica, evoked an icy landscape and vast continent, affected by the powers of nature.
