Winner of the Teen School of Rock Songwriter competition Meghan Glue has been compared to a young Joni Mitchell.
Seventeen-year-old Meghan Glue, the winner of the teen section, performed in bare feet. She was compared to a young Joni Mitchell, and praised for her down-to-earth vibe.
Glue has been busy making a name for herself locally, and had already played a variety of gigs before the competition.
The Tweens section for 8-12 year olds oozed with young talent, and featured Niva Sheehan, the daughter of Kiwi electronica musician Rhian Sheehan.
Niva nabbed second place after impressing the judges with a song about dad.
It was late entrant Esme Goodman who took home first place in this section however, with a song about rainbows.
The yearly competition that exposes talented young songwriters is held at the new ZEAL site at 103 Ghuznee Street.
