“The circumstances of my first time were all very romantic and exotic, but the details were kind of clumsy and awkward. I was glad to have finally done it, but I don’t think either of us would look back on it especially fondly.”
Danielle Mason - actress
“I was in my late teens and we were in love. It was a Saturday night, the lights were low, and the band The Real Thing was playing on the stereo.”
Simon Vincent - actor
“It was at my parents bach north of Auckland. I borrowed my mum’s car, we arrived at dusk, went for a walk along the beach, then she cooked me an amazing dinner - it was lamb shanks I think. I will never forget it, it was extremely loving and to the soundtrack of waves crashing on the beach.”
Jude Gibson - actor
“I can really identify with those young people who had sex for the first time because they really wanted to know what it was like. I did too. In retrospect I wish I had waited a bit longer, known myself better, and had more of an idea about how people ticked before I jumped into the big pool. It might have been better.”
Isaac Heron - stage manager
“Hmmm, my first time was in 2000, I was 14 and so was my girlfriend. We got fed up trying to find a place to do it, so we ended up at a local primary school, on the playground!”
