Trinity Roots are back
Band member Warren Maxwell, who went on to play with Fat Freddy’s Drop and Little Bushman, says a series of summer festivals are in the pipe-line.
TrinityRoots’ Riki Gooch, Rio Hemopo and Maxwell called it a day to expand their musical repertoire and “jam with other musos and other sounds”.
Their last gig was an Asian tsunami fundraiser at the Town Hall in 2005.
“We all felt like we needed to take control of our own paths more,” says Maxwell.
“Y’know, sort of getting to the point where other albums and European tours needed a three year future commitment.”
Maxwell says the band decided to re form after the organiser of a concert contacted the band via Facebook.
The band will re-release their three CD back catalogue along with Music is Choice, a documentary about the band directed by Sarah Hunter.
The reformation will not affect Maxwell’s other band commitments, as he enjoys playing in all three.
Look for TrinityRoots at a summer festival near you.
