Vienna highlight

PLAYING in Vienna was the highlight of my musical life. Everything in Vienna was so perfect - the buildings and the city, everywhere was art.
The Musikverein is overwhelming; shimmering and beautiful. I didn’t feel nervous at all, just so excited. It was such a cool thing to see a packed house and people standing at the back. They really like classical music in this city.
Vienna was the best concert so far. Maybe I’ll only perform there once in my life. I really went for it and played hard out. Everyone did. It was amazing!
The Victoria Hall in Geneva was also stunning. Artistically and acoustically it was my second favourite hall.
In Lucerne I explored the riverside, where there is a beautiful covered wooden bridge. Even in the rain it was so pretty. I’m glad I bought a woolly hat in Shanghai though, because Switzerland was freezing! I can’t do any more shopping because I’m going to Rome for three days at the end of the tour and I need to save some space.
I’ve been feeling unwell for the last few days but I adjust myself before each concert. I nap before each performance as it gives me energy. I think everyone in the orchestra is happy, even though it’s been over two weeks now on the road.
This week Pam and the NZSO played back to-back concerts in Germany where the tour ended.
