CAPITAL E National Arts Festival gets creative. A giant, eight-metre-long, blow-up whale named Manilayo made out of recycled parachutes and a wetsuit, characters from an eccentric chess board that come to life, and a story of a boat made out of bread caught in a teacup storm, will take over the Capital E National Arts Festival from March 13.
The festival opens the inspiring world of professional visual art, music and performance making to New Zealand’s young. The giant, blow-up whale will wash up on Ilott Green, and a stage in Civic Square will be set up for the premiere of Footnote Dance Company’s Footprint.
Plus, comedy show Giggles in Kidzone Giggles Live! demystifies the process of television production, revealing the magic of the green screen.
